I’m so excited about my new french country buffet decor in my dining room!

Guys, can we just take a minute to stare at my new mirror? It was the last one Target had, and I couldn’t pass it up because of how darn beautiful it is and also how great the price is.

I actually saw this mirror a few months ago online and was out of stock, but I kept my eye on it. If you want it and it’s out ot sock, I recommend signing up for the notification of when it comes back in stock.

What I didn’t realize when seeing the mirror online vs. seeing it in person is just how large it is! This mirror is BIG! I was planning on putting it above my fireplace initially, but it was too big for that space and wouldn’t quite fit. So, I moved the antique mirror that was on my buffet back to my fireplace mantel to make room for this new beauty on my buffet.

I loved my antique mirror on this buffet, but I really also love this french country mirror here as well because it plays off the jute braid chargers that I keep on my table mostly all year ’round.

I added my large candlesticks that I’ve picked up over the years from Home Goods and TJ Maxx to either side of the mirror. It really needed something large because after trying some smaller candlesticks I own, I realized that the small ones just got lost next to the large mirror.

Sometimes it just takes some trial and error to find what fits best when you’re decorating!

The other component of my simple french country buffet decor is this large decorative vase that I picked up when I bought the mirror.

I’d been wanting a large vase, and when I saw this one, I knew it would be perfect because it is part of a pretty collection that has tons of other similar pieces. I’m sure I’ll start collecting the other pieces in the coming months. 😉

I gathered some fresh peonies from my backyard to fill the vase. I also stuck some faux peonies in the mix as well to give it a fuller look. One thing I’m trying to do now is buy opaque vases so that I can pile faux flowers in them without water. It helps pull off the look of real flowers when you’re using faux!

My sweet Sadie girl had to be in a shot because this is real life, and she loves napping on this rug. Her and our other puppy Max always curl up in our dining room. I think it’s because they love all the sunlight that shines through our windows. They are sun-bathers, for sure! We actually adopted both of them from pet rescues based out of the south. Sadie is from South Caroline and Max is from Alabama. I guess it’s no wonder they love the sun so much.

All this pink in our dining room makes me so happy. I love passing by and seeing all the spring blooms. If you missed my spring tablescape with all the pink loveliness – check it out. It’s probably in my top three favorite tablescapes I’ve done. 😉

And real quick – you can see in the below image one of my faux peonies. It’s a lighter color than the other blooms. When you look at it in person, they blend nicely. Don’t be afraid to mix real and faux if you don’t have enough real flowers to make the arrangement you want – that’s what I like to do!
