Our New Patio Design with a Fire Pit Table

Our new patio design with our fire pit table is complete, and I am tickled pink about it!

This post is part of the Summer Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop hosted by AnnMarie & Anne from Simply2Moms! If you’re visiting from Kristin at White Arrows Home, or if you just happened to stop by, I’m so glad you’re here.

If this is your first time here, welcome!!! I’m Marly and this is my blog abrickhome.com. I’m a lover of French country design and cozy home vibes. My hubby Jason and I are pretty much always working on a project around the house, and we absolutely love it!

Our newest outdoor project turned into a pretty dreamy space for us, and we’re already enjoying it so much! Come take a little tour with me!

I gotta’ admit: we didn’t know what the hay to do with this outdoor patio space for awhile.

Earlier this season, I styled our large upper deck area to consist of an outdoor sitting area and an outdoor eating space, complete with a dining table and grill.

That left us twiddling our thumbs about what to do with this smaller deck space. We weren’t sure what type of space to make!

Jason really wanted some sort of fire pit area outside, and initially we were going to make a DIY fire pit in our yard. But, the more we thought about it, the more we realized that we should utilize our empty deck space for a fire pit area. That meant that instead of making an actual fire pit in the yard, we would need a fire pit table, which was a-okay by us!

Now that it’s complete, we are both beyond thrilled!!!!

The chairs:

Let’s talk about the chairs for a hot sec because they’re pretty much my fave!!

A month or so ago, we actually bought two of these wicker lounge chairs as part of a four piece outdoor set, which includes two chairs, a couch, and a coffee table.

Here’s how I styled the set on our other decks. After using the four piece set for awhile, we decided to purchase four more wicker chairs to make a total of six chairs. That’s how much we love them.

We moved the original two chairs from the upper deck and styled them alongside our four new chairs to make a larger seating area around the table.

The chairs are large enough for our taller family members, and also comfy and beautiful at the same time! I love the gray-brown color of the wicker.

As far as taking care of them: we actually purchased these chair covers in size large. That way we don’t have to bring our cushions in when it rains.

The cushions can definitely get wet, as the fabric is made for the outdoors. But, we want to keep this set really nice for years to come, so we chose to buy covers.

The fire pit table:

We purchased this fire pit dining table after lots of research and discussion. A fire pit table is an investment, so we wanted to make sure it would suite our needs for a long time!

We needed to make sure it would be the right size and shape, and this one is really large and rectangular.

I was also adamant about finding a fire pit table that had a cover to go over the fire pebbles when the fire is not on, for safety purposes and also so we could use it as an actual table.

Lots of fire pit tables do not have a topper, so make sure you read the description on the listing if that’s something you want!

The wicker on this fire pit table is darker than the wicker on our chairs which I like because it offers some contrast in the design.

The Patio Design:

Our new patio design was specifically made to look our over our pool and yard area so that we can keep an eye on our daughter at all times!

We could have used four chairs in this space but I thought having an additional two chairs would be nice for when we have company.

Since we also have the matching sofa and coffee table to this set, we can easily play mix and match and switch things around if needed.

Now that this space is finished, we’ve been using it pretty frequently. We’ve had a couple cool summer nights so we’ve been able to crank up the fire on our fire pit table.

It puts off a decent amount of heat and you can adjust the flame height which is nice. We love the ambiance it creates! Now that we have it, I’m already getting excited for all the fall things with this fire pit table!

Thanks for joining me on this tour of our new patio design and fire pit table.

  3. I can see why you love those chairs… They are fantastic! And even though I love your patio with the string lights around the umbrella etc., I laughed out loud when I scrolled down to see the dog. I’ve seen that pose from our dogs several times. LOL! Pinned!
