Isn’t this fall flower arrangement, in a basket, dreamy?

It was actually really simple to make, and you might be surprised to learn how I did it.
I really wanted to use my round, woven rattan basket for this arrangement along with fresh flower stems I got from the grocery store (Giant, to be exact).
The issue I was facing is that the basket has holes in it, and I needed to find a way to put my flowers in it while still having access to water.
I came up with a solution, and I love the way it turned out!
Here’s how to make this easy Fall Flower Arrangement in a Basket:
1. Gather your Materials
For this fall flower arrangement, you’ll need:
- a large basket
- a flower vase that’s about 2/3 the height of your basket
- fresh flower stems (I used hydrangeas and other flowers I found that looked good at the grocery store)
- faux eucalyptus stems (I have these)
2. Make a fall flower arrangement in your vase
The next step is to make a fall flower arrangement in your vase.
You can use any type of fall flowers that you want or that look good from your grocery store. Sometimes I even find some good fresh flower stems at Walmart.
Make sure to add lots of water in your vase, so that you don’t have to replace the water too often.
After you finish making your fall flower arrangement in a basket, it’ll be a bit difficult to go back and add water, so fill your vase up to the top with water!
3. Place your vase in your basket
It will look something like this:
It’s pretty as it is, but it doesn’t look quite full enough yet.
You’ll notice you have a lot of space between the florals and the basket.
That’s perfectly normal, we’ll fix those gaps in the next step.
4. Add Faux Eucalyptus
This is the step where it all starts to come together. You’ll need some faux eucalyptus, like these. I love mine and use them for tons of projects because they’re really long, very affordable, and super easy to bend.
You’ll want to place your faux eucalyptus stems so that they sit in the basket but not the vase, i.e. the gap between your vase and basket exterior.
Just keep adding them all around your vase.
You’ll want to bend some of the faux eucalyptus stems so that they hang over the sides.
It should look like this after you get your stems in:
5. Do the detail work
You’re almost done!
All you need to do now is the fine-tuning. You’ll want to pull the flowers out a bit to make your fall flower arrangement look fuller.
Make any additional adjustments you need until you’re happy with the result!
Here’s the finished look of my fall flower arrangement in a basket:
I love how it looks on my coffee table in my living room.
I even added a small vase to my side table filled with some left over fresh flowers.
I also pulled in the eucalyptus look with my wreath and garland on my mantel.
I’m tickled with how it all came together!
