Whew! You guys! It’s already the second week into January. I’m thrilled to say that I finished taking down our Christmas decor and decorating our main floor for winter over the past couple weeks. I’m starting the winter home decor tours in the dining room, so I’ll focus this post specifically on that area. Don’t you worry though – I’ll be posting the other tours in the coming weeks. 🙂

After receiving loads of copper decor for Christmas, (thanks to my mother-in-law!), I was eager to get it all displayed in my dining room. I have had a little obsession with copper decor for a couple months now. It all started when I bought two copper mugs from WalMart in December for a Christmas vignette on my vintage buffet table. After that, I was hooked…hooked on copper.
Of course I choose to put ALL the copper decor on my Christmas list. You should have seen how excited I was when I started opening my gifts and saw they were all the copper decor I wanted. I was like a kid on Christmas!
I received a large copper bowl (top shelf), a similar copper pitcher (bottom shelf), more copper mugs (middle shelf), and set of two copper trays (table center). My mother in law even got me this gorgeous glass and wooden cloche that I requested (middle shelf).
I wanted to make my copper decor accents pop on the shelves, so I used wood decor and white tableware to help do that. Originally I did not use wood accents but decided to give it a try to see how it looked. I’m loving the way that the copper and wood tones accent each other. They’re like peanut butter and jelly. They just go so well together.
For the table setting, I kept it pretty simple. I used my decor “regulars” which include my white chargers from Home Goods, my white dishware set from the Restore, and these jute braid chargers. I also bought six stemless copper wine glasses, which accent the table perfectly. The silverware set is a rose gold set that my brother and sister in law gifted to me for Christmas. It looks very similar to all the copper decor!
The copper tray in the middle of the table came as a set of two. It’s so pretty against the white tones. For the centerpeice, I used my faux curly willow tree branches from Michael’s. They are one of my favorites and are so versatile for fall and winter decor looks.
Here’s a view from the staircase. I gotta tell ya, the corners on either side of the hutch are feeling pretty empty. I had Christmas trees on either side during the holidays and now that they’re gone, I feel like it’s missing something. I will probably add some type of wall art or mirrors in the near future.
Here’s a quick peek into my office. As you can see, all my silver decor didn’t go very far. I just moved it to the bookcase next door. I guess you could say I’m going for a mixed-metal winter.
I did a little styling on the chair with other tray. It was so simple and gives a nice pop of color there. Plus, the pillow and throw add some nice texture.
And that’s a wrap on the tour of the dining room. It’s feeling pretty winter-y and cozy in here.
