Cozy Christmas Bedroom with Some Red Flare

I kept my Christmas decor neutral on the main floor of my home.

I was planning to continue the neutral theme into my bedroom, but I gotta’ tell ya, I started craving some traditional red tones. So, in a split second, I decided: out with the neutral plan and in with the classic colors! I’m really happy I changed my decor direction in my bedroom. I am loving the traditional colors.

HERE’S MY RED & WHITE, COZY CHRISTMAS BEDROOM:

I started out by making my Christmas-themed bed. Since I wasn’t carrying the neutral theme into this space, I really wanted to carry through some aspect of my Christmas style this year. The snowy white theme that I used on my dining room table and my Christmas tree seemed perfect to use in this space. I simply used the reverse side of my cozy sherpa comforter, which is winter white, to create that snowy look. I then piled on some red and gray pillows along with my plaid throw, to top if off.

SHOP THE SPACE:

I kept our nightstands pretty simple. I added my favorite jug vases on the night stands along with some iced red berries from Michael’s. A candle and small bottlebrush tree complete the look.

I get tons of questions on our area rug. We have this rug under our bed accompanied by a smaller faux sheepskin rug. I love the sheen on the area rug. It is a very similar color to our bedroom furniture set. You may notice I moved my white blanket ladder to our bedroom. It normally lives in our family room but after decorating that space, I didn’t feel that I needed it there. So, I made a new home for it during the holidays.

This wreath is probably my favorite one that I own. The pinecones, berries, and bow on it are perfect, especially for this space. I originally put a small Christmas tree in our bedroom but decided that I wanted it to go in the dining room. I think the wreath brings enough evergreen flare to the space that I don’t need a tree. Below the wreath is our accent chair which I rave about ALL the time. To finish the look on that side of the room, I simply added this tall outdoor lantern.

SHOP THE SPACE:

I’m really excited to also share a space in our home that I don’t normally share: my makeup corner. We used to have our teal vintage buffet in this space but decided to move it to the main floor after realizing that I really needed a makeup desk. Fortunately, I was able to take this computer desk from my mom’s house (it used to be my brother’s back in the day) and use it for my makeup.

The desk is the perfect size for this little corner. One day I plan to swap out the desk with another one that appeals to my style a bit more, but for now I’m just happy that I have a place to do my makeup.
