Neutral Master Bedroom Retreat that’s Cozy & Inviting

The temperatures dropped the past week, which gave me some inspiration to do a little bedroom refresh and create a neutral master bedroom retreat that’s comfy and inviting, yet also sophisticated.

If you saw my recent Instagram post, I outlined exactly how to make a comfy bedroom. If you missed it, here’s the gist:

  1. Push all items on the floor to your closet and shut the door.
  2. Give your furniture a quick dusting with a makeup remover wipe (so you don’t have to go downstairs and get actual cleaning items).
  3. Dress your bed in the comfiest linens you own. Sorry, this one you can’t skimp on.
  4. Pour yourself some hot tea, sit in your bed, and enjoy.

Okay, so that’s kind of the minimum required to create a comfy room, but it works when you don’t have much time. And, let’s be honest, who has a lot of time these days? 😉

I am obsessed with comfy linens, so when the temperatures dropped, one of the first things I did was swap out our quilt with this cozy comforter. My mother-in-law gifted this comforter to us, and it was one of the best presents ever. It’s micromink and sherpa, which seems to be the winning combination when it comes to coziness. I also swapped out our pillows. This accent pillow is my absolute favorite one, which you may have seen on my couch a few times. I like to move it around the house. This pillow cover is very similar to my pillow!

I added some fresh flower arrangements to our nightstands, which gives any room an instant refresh.

You’ll notice all my furniture in my bedroom matches. It wasn’t 100% intentional, but it just so happens that this chair matches my bedroom set perfectly. It’s like the chair was supposed to be part of the bedroom set!

The chair below is a little different than the one above because of the gray fabric. The wood tone, though, is pretty much spot on. I actually found the chair below from Home Goods, and I use it as my vanity chair. It’s tough to source but this is a very similar chair to my vanity chair.

My vanity sits to the right of the window, and I would’ve shown it to you except it’s such a mess. That’s what happens when you have a two year old who likes to sift through your makeup. The window makes it a great place for my vanity because of all the natural light that seeps in. I don’t have a large enough master bath to have a vanity set up in there, so I make do with this spot!

The area rug is a recent addition, and it works great in the space. Funny enough, my mother in law had bought it for her new home but ended up not needing it, so she offered it to me. It is actually an indoor/outdoor rug so it holds up really well with a kid and a dog. The color of it is perfect with our furniture and the rug actually has a sheen to it. In person, it looks a bit luxurious.

I am soaking in this neutral master bedroom retreat for now because I know it will soon be decked out in Christmas decor! WOAH! This neutral master bedroom got a facelift, and it looks stunning. She how she created an inviting and comfy yet sophisticated master bedroom.
