Spring Mantel Display with Cascading Florals

This year, my spring mantel display uses a bit more florals than usual. In fact, it’s pretty much covered in cascading florals.

If you’re stopping over from The Homemaking Mama, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. Isn’t Bree’s mantel so fun? I love her style. (This post is part of an amazing blog hop put together by the amazing Kendra from Joy in Our Home. Make sure to check out all the blogs listed at the end of this post.)

I can’t believe the first day of spring has come and gone. Here in Maryland, we had snow on the first day of spring. I was a bit sad that we didn’t get to welcome spring with 70 degree weather and chirping birds, but I decided to be positive about it. Instead of focusing on the lack of ‘spring’ outdoors, I focused my attention on indoor-related spring activities. Actually, it was just one activity, my most favorite activity: decorating!

One of my favorite things to decorate every season is my fireplace mantel. I love switching out my winter decor for fun and inviting spring decor. This year, I decided to use cascading florals. But, this was actually my second time decorating my mantel. I redecorated it because I wasn’t quite pleased with the way it turned out the first time. Originally my spring mantel display was much simpler. I liked it but I didn’t love it. I was feeling like I wanted more…more decor, more styling, just plain more.

And don’t get me wrong. I love simplicity, but this year my mood was lending itself to bountifulness.

I took a trip to Michaels and found some amazing florals. Luckily, the spring floral section was all half off. I was pleasantly surprised!

I did decide to keep my ‘stay awhile’ sign on my mantel. I made it during winter and I love that it can be transitioned easily from season to season with just a few changes in the accompanying decor. Here’s the print I used from this Etsy store.

The candlesticks and lanterns were Home Goods finds, and I snagged the rope balls from Target.

The jug vase jar is part of the Hearth and Hand line at Target. I actually bought two because I am obsessed with them. The non-pictured one is sitting on my bar.

I found the blanket ladder from a Chartreuse & Co. event. They have the most amazing barn sales full of vintage, thrifted and eclectic finds. It’s basically like Christmas morning. If you are within an hour of Frederick, Maryland (OK, maybe two hours), I would 100% recommend going to one of their barn sales.

The ladder was originally in its original wood-toned state with splattered paint marks everywhere. It was so beautiful but didn’t quite fit my home, so I painted it white. It was $35, which is a pretty decent price for a blanket ladder.

I have been getting tons of questions on Instagram about my rug that’s in my living room. It’s this one from Target, and it is such high quality. You can’t see any dirt stains despite the constant stampede of a dirty dog paws and a muddy one year old. It gets a TEN from this mama.
