Did you know the first day of spring this year is March 20? That’s just a little over a month away! I am over the moon about spring because that means I can take my one year old outside to play again. A couple days ago we had an unusually warm day in Maryland, with temperatures reaching almost 70 degrees… in the middle of February! Fortunately, my husband happened to be off work that day so we were able to have a family day and take Hannah to park.

She had a blast running around in the grass! It was the first time I got to see her run until she couldn’t anymore. She ran in circles. She ran uphill. She ran so fast that she tripped several times. (She was fine, though!) Her laughter and squeals were so authentic and loud that I couldn’t help but smile.
It was her longest period of happiness I have seen.
I think that’s why spring means so much more to me this year than it did in years past. I’m usually a fall and winter girl, but nothing makes me more excited right now than the thought of taking my daughter outside to play in the beautiful spring and summer weather.
I’m not quite positive the color scheme I am going to decorate with this spring, but I’m leaning toward pastels. Groundbreaking, I know. 😉
