I’m fairly new to this mom thing. Ever since bringing my beauty queen into the world 7 months ago, I have grown to have an entirely new appreciation for mommas. I have always had a deep respect for moms, but after becoming one, that respect skyrocketed to a completely other level. Can we all just quickly give a shout out to all the mommas out there? You rock. Related: –Start a Blog Like a Boss –8 Things NOT to Do when You Start a Blog –The 3 Keys to Blogging Success –Starting a Blog? You are, after all, putting yourself out there. And not only that, but you’re doing so in what some call a saturated marketplace. I’d like to quickly pause for a second and tell you that I don’t believe in saturated marketplaces. Yes, there are a lot of bloggers out there in the blogosphere, but there’s no reason you can’t stand out from the crowd and make a name for yourself or brand. You are unique and you have a unique perspective and new creative ideas to offer. If everyone thought in a […]
I love Home Goods just as much as the next person. They always have the best statement pieces and the prettiest décor items. And while Home Goods and other similar home stores may not be overly expensive, you can usually get the same look for a fraction of the cost. That is, as long as you don’t mind putting in a little extra effort. There are, of course, times when you can’t DIY something and have to buy new. That’s why I’ve created an all-encompassing, money-saving-strategies list for both the ‘buy-new’ times and the DIY times. A clean home is impossible to maintain, or so I used to think. I have two medium-haired pups who shed like crazy and a 6-month-old baby girl who requires constant care. My husband works a lot while I run this blog and take care of our daughter. Dog hair, dirty puppy prints, laundry, dishes, dust, clutter and general dirt and grime pile up in my home on a daily basis. Like most families, we have a busy life, filled with chaos and constant hustle, and cleaning the house just doesn’t top the priority list. Your baby’s first Easter is such a special time. They’re only going to have their first Easter once. I was debating for awhile if I was going to make a ‘first Easter basket’ since my daughter is only six months old and won’t really know what’s happening. When I thought about what to use as a basket filler, I realized candy wouldn’t work because she doesn’t eat candy yet. As I kept thinking about it, I decided she HAS to have a first Easter basket. She just has to! I was determined to make my daughter a beautiful Easter basket without spending a fortune. I never like to spend too much on anything – mostly because I know I can make anything beautiful without breaking the bank, and […]

I am so excited about this DIY tutorial! I adore this buffet and absolutely love how it turned out – just the way I had imagined. I only spent $75 on the buffet and had mostly all the other materials needed to do this home project. In this tutorial, I will break down the process in an easy-to-digest, step-by-step format so that you too can achieve this look with virtually any piece of wood furniture. Once you know the basics of wood working, you can apply your knowledge and skill to any wood project. My dad is a master with anything wood related. He actually owned his own woodworking business for twenty-some years, so as you can imagine, I have picked up […]
