Hi, friends! My post today is a bit more personal than usual and there’s a good reason for it: I recently hit a huge goal in my life! All I want to do is shout how proud I am of myself from a rooftop, or a hill, or…. OK, this blog will do. I lost 45 pounds in 9 months, after having gained 45 pounds the 9 months prior. To my delight, I became pregnant in January 2016. I couldn’t wait to experience pregnancy, and everything that came with it. I wanted to be just as beautiful and glamorous as the pregnant actresses I’d seen on magazine covers. I wanted to wear pretty maternity clothes that accentuated my little baby […]
It’s no secret that my husband and I are frugal people. This especially goes for all home improvement tasks, as we first seek to DIY. If the task is something for which we’re unfamiliar, we put Google to good use and research like crazy, or we watch several YouTube tutorial videos in hopes of gaining the necessary knowledge to perform the task. There have been several occasions when the home improvement task requires a professional, but even in those cases we do our due diligence to find the best-priced professional without sacrificing quality. This post contains affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure for more information. I am passionate about creating beautiful living spaces. My master retreat – or bedroom – is no exception. In fact, it may be the most important space in my home. I have an almost-8-month-old daughter, and my house has turned into a baby space, pretty much everywhere. There are toys and specially created living areas just for her in every single room. Yes. Every. Single. Room. That is, until now. You see, when we transitioned my daughter from sleeping in our master suite to sleeping in her nursery, I immediately leapt into action and reverted our room back to its former glory. While doing so, I added in some extra lush touches to make […]
I love Home Goods just as much as the next person. They always have the best statement pieces and the prettiest décor items. And while Home Goods and other similar home stores may not be overly expensive, you can usually get the same look for a fraction of the cost. That is, as long as you don’t mind putting in a little extra effort. There are, of course, times when you can’t DIY something and have to buy new. That’s why I’ve created an all-encompassing, money-saving-strategies list for both the ‘buy-new’ times and the DIY times. A clean home is impossible to maintain, or so I used to think. I have two medium-haired pups who shed like crazy and a 6-month-old baby girl who requires constant care. My husband works a lot while I run this blog and take care of our daughter. Dog hair, dirty puppy prints, laundry, dishes, dust, clutter and general dirt and grime pile up in my home on a daily basis. Like most families, we have a busy life, filled with chaos and constant hustle, and cleaning the house just doesn’t top the priority list.
