This post contains affiliate links. Please read my full disclosure for more information. Starting a blog can be fun, exhilarating, and exciting, but it can also be somewhat intimidating too. You are, after all, putting yourself out there. And not only that, but you’re doing so in what some call a saturated marketplace. I’d like to quickly pause for a second and tell you that I don’t believe in saturated marketplaces. Yes, there are a lot of bloggers out there in the blogosphere, but there’s no reason you can’t stand out from the crowd and make a name for yourself or brand. You are unique and you have a unique perspective and new creative ideas to offer. You have something new and different to offer, and you can build a group of followers who adore you. OK – un-pause. I just had to get that out. I want you to remember that there is so much potential for bloggers, even completely new bloggers. Related: -Start a Blog like a Boss (your comprehensive how-to guide) -Starting a Blog? Do These ...

10 Habits for Maintaining a Clean Home

A clean home is impossible to maintain, or so I used to think. I have two medium-haired pups who shed like crazy and a 6-month-old baby girl who requires constant care. My husband works a lot while I run this blog and take care of our daughter. Dog hair, dirty puppy prints, laundry, dishes, dust, clutter and general dirt and grime pile up in my home on a daily basis. Like most families, we have a busy life, filled with chaos and constant hustle, and cleaning the house just doesn’t top the priority list. Although Care.com makes some pretty compelling commercials, my husband and I just can’t seem to justify hiring a third party company when we can do the work ourselves for a fraction of the cost. Really, the only cost we have is for the cleaning materials and our time. While I know our home can never be 100% clean all the time, I have come ...

Fun Things to do Outside with the Family

Fun Things to do Outside with the Family

If you’re bored and searching for a budget-friendly activity to do outside, look no further. Here’s a list of fun ideas that range from taking only a couple minutes to having an all-day adventure. The good news is most of these ideas are free or almost free. Go for a walk. Have a picnic. Use whatever leftover food you have in your pantry. Go swimming. This could be at your pool, a friend’s pool, a local pool, the lake, or a beach. Go camping. It doesn’t have to be at night either. Try setting up a tent during the daytime, packing it with pillows and light blankets, and then relaxing with some music. Make an outdoor escape at nighttime with lighting. Think Christmas lights, lawn chairs, blankets, and finger food. Take pictures outside. Visit a park. Exercise outside. If you’re feeling really energetic, make an obstacle course outside using things you have laying around. Play a game outside. If you have enough people, play baseball. If there’s only you and your significant other, toss a baseball around. Bike ride. Visit a local art gallery. Walk around boutique shops. Pick flowers and make a flower arrangement. Read outside. Sketch outside. Do ...

26 Things to Do in 2017 to Be Happier

I have always believed that being happy comes from within. You have the power to make yourself happy, and you don’t have to make drastic changes in your life to be happier. Here's a list of 26 things you can start today to be happier:  Start something you’ve wanted to do. I’m guilty of not following through on so many things I have wanted to do. But 2017 is different for me. I’ve already started one thing I have wanted to do –a blog! If you have been eager to start something, do it. You’ll never get to where you want to be without taking a leap. If you’re interested in starting a blog, like I did, you can learn about blogging here. Pick up where you started. There are so many things I have started and then quit, just because I didn’t feel like doing it anymore. When I was in elementary school, I did Tae-Kwon-Doe every week. I got to a blue belt, and at the time, I only had to get red belt before I would reach my final destination of black belt. I’m not sure if this sequencing is still the case as it has been a ...
