The Easiest Way to Set Up Rich Pins on Pinterest

WHAT ARE RICH PINS ON PINTEREST? If you’re a blogger or have been perusing Pinterest lately, you may notice that some pins look different than others. Some pins are more simplistic and just include a couple lines of text under them. These are not rich pins. These are regular pins. Rich pins are the ones that provide more information. There are several types of rich pins, including app, product, recipe, and article. I chose the article rich pin for my purposes. You’ll notice that with rich pins, Pinterest users see a bold headline that displays the article name as well as description text under it. When you click on the pin, you’ll see even more information including where the article is from, a […]

Easy DIY Chalk Paint Tutorial

This tutorial is so easy and helpful! I can't wait to try it on my end tables.

My side tables are complete! I am so excited to share with you the transformation of two side tables I bought for a whopping $12 each. I am slightly obsessed with finding frugal furniture pieces for my home that need some TLC. I love having the ability to make these finds look exactly how I envision them. I don’t hate the incredible cost savings either, which I’ll detail later in this tutorial. To give you some background, I have been searching for end tables for months and months. In my living room, next to my gray sectional, I had one white tray table that I was looking to upgrade. Instead of paying a fortune to get the look I wanted, my goal with this project […]

My Weight Loss Journey: How I Lost my Pregnancy Weight

How I lost my pregnancy weight

Hi, friends! My post today is a bit more personal than usual and there’s a good reason for it: I recently hit a huge goal in my life!  All I want to do is shout how proud I am of myself from a rooftop, or a hill, or…. OK, this blog will do. I lost 45 pounds in 9 months, after having gained 45 pounds the 9 months prior. To my delight, I became pregnant in January 2016. I couldn’t wait to experience pregnancy, and everything that came with it. I wanted to be just as beautiful and glamorous as the pregnant actresses I’d seen on magazine covers. I wanted to wear pretty maternity clothes that accentuated my little baby […]

How to Choose the Perfect Area Rug

How to Choose the Perfect Area Rug

Ever since we whitewashed our brick fireplace, bought a new gray couch, and replaced our carpet with hardwood, I finally started seeing my living room vision come to life. For the past couple weeks, I spent (probably too much) time searching for a new area rug for our living room. How to Shiplap Your Walls

How to shiplap a wall

A note from Marly: I’m so excited to share this post with you about how to shiplap a wall. My friend Melissa over at Brown Dog Vintage recently created a shiplap accent wall in her master bedroom. How to Frugally Decorate a Brick Fireplace

Awesome budget-friendly decor options for my fireplace

Ever since moving into my two-story brick colonial in 2013, I have struggled figuring out how to style my brick fireplace. You see, it’s not your typical fireplace. My house was built in 1978, and with that comes 1978 architecture. Instead of a typical brick fireplace in the middle of the wall, I have an entire wall made of brick and a fireplace that’s left-aligned, instead of centered, on that wall. Additionally, I have an incredibly long fireplace mantel that tends to look unbalanced without the proper decor. Before undertaking the decorating aspect of the fireplace, I had to figure out what I was going to do with the brick wall itself. The brick wall is original to the house and was the […]
